8 gb ram on 4 slots motherboard with 2 differents type

I got 2x2gb pc10600 Ram on motherboard with 4 slots and i want to add more 2x2gb pc12800 on my motherboard can it work properly?
please answer thanks

It will more than likely work, they will all downclock to the slowest speed but yes should work fine

In the end nobody can say for sure when mixing different types of ram,you can only try and find out.As said many times in this forum,mixing ram can give problems.
The best thing would get another set of the same maker and model,if not able to get at least the same speed,timings,voltage.

Chedda87 is right with what he said,it probably will downclock to the lowest speed.

There are no guarantees when mixing DRAM, it can be and often is problematic, even with two identical sets, best to buy a package of the full amount you want/need. Can find more on this in my article here:
