I cloned a Macbook pros HDD to a 2 TB HDD using a disk duplicator.

It boots fine, however it's not recognizing the full 2 tb, and when I use the disk utility to increase the size of the partition it says the mediakit reports map size is too small.

So I heard you can use Gparted to change the size of partition. I burnt of a copy of Gparted Live CD boot it on the mac, However when I run it, it says theres no controller.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong with Gparted or is there another way to extend the partition.

If more information is needed just ask

Thanks

Solution
Parted and Gparted cannot expand an HFS disk. The Mac Disk Utility may be able to do so. If not, the only option is to copy the disk again, this time using a proper OS X disk cloning utility, such as Carbon Copy Cloner.
