Hello!
So this morning, I woke up to find out that I had an update this morning for the latest drivers from AMD Catalyst Control Center (15.7 for those wondering) and so I started the downloading process. While it was downloading it was saying how I did not have a certain driver ( I think it said my display drivers were wrong I think i'm sorry I cant be specific) and how I need to fix that. I was going to fix it when the Update finished. I left the computer to go get some breakfast and when I came back my monitor's display was reverted to 800X600 and the update had froze on me I ended up giving it 2 hours just to make sure that it was frozen and sure enough, it was. So I was going to try closing it and force an update. When I tried opening Catalyst again, it said that AMD Catalyst Control Center cannot be started and there are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyst Control Center And that is why I am here currently. I have heard of a fix where you uninstall drivers and AMD Catalyst but I came here to see what over solutions people may have for my current Issue If you have a fix please tell me (normally my brother helps me with these kind of errors but he moved out and it is just me to help my family with computer errors now)

I found that the 'gaming evolved' app didn't offer the 15.7 drivers are an auto update the other day.

I just downloaded the full driver package direct from AMD and installed that (it includes the updated catalyst control centre). I'd try doing that first of all, assuming windows 7 64 bit:

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64

Get the full suit, install and see how you get on.

Out of interest what are your specs? Remember that certian older AMD cards are no longer supported so won't get upgraded to the new 15.7 drivers (I think these go back as far as the HD 5000 cards).

When it says to completely uninstall the drives should I do a express uninstall of AMD Catalyst?

You can do the express uninstall, and it's recommended to do that FIRST, but running the Wagnard tools Display driver uninstaller is the more important part of the process. Even the AMD express uninstall often does not remove all related driver files and registry entries.

You would want to run the Express uninstall, if you wish, then run the Wagnard tools DDU, making sure to allow it to do the safe mode reboot when it asks, then install the full Catalyst suite from the following link (Probably a good idea to download it before doing any of the above steps, just to make sure you already have it ready to install.).

I tend to NOT select the gaming evolved app, I've found more problems than solutions when using it and since the DDU should be run each and every time you decide to upgrade to a newer driver version anyhow, to avoid issues exactly as you're experiencing now, it's features seem rather useless and unnecessary to me. I have never found any of the gaming evolved features to be beneficial. Others may disagree, but that's my take.

I'd also remember to install the latest AMD chipset drivers if you also are running an AMD based chipset motherboard. If you would please list your graphics card and motherboard models, I'll be happy to link you to the exact files you need for installation.
