Can I install Mac Os on this laptop http://www.engadget.com/products/asus/x52s/specs/ and if I can, then what version should I install?

Yes, that computer looks to be compatible. This article is pretty accurate and will walk you through all of the steps to install a OS 10.10 on a PC. The slang term is a Hackintosh, and it can be a bit difficult to do. If you are a good problem solver you shouldn't have too much of a problem doing it though.
