PCI 2/3 graphics cards are backwards compatible with PCI 1, but you will have reduced performance because of the smaller bandwidth. What's your budget? You might be better off with a newer PC and using some of your current parts to reduce costs.

Splendid
i would get a gtx 750ti. it is a little above your budget but it does not need any extra power from the power supply so the power supply will not be an issue. it gets its power from the pcie slot.

if you have the cabnling from your PSSU then you can get a r7 260 from amd as it is just as powerful but cheaper

Here's a list of cards that would probably be good for you https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/compare/msi-video-card-n750ti2gd5oc%2Cmsi-video-card-r72502gd3oc%2Cpowercolor-video-card-axr7250x2gbd5he%2Cpowercolor-video-card-axr7260x2gbd5dhv4/

From slowest to fastest it goes 250 < 250x < 750 ti < 260x but all of them will do you what you need reasonably well.

I assume you mean the 260x? But yes, the specific one in the link I posted is worth it. It has an amazing deal going that ends today, considering the MSRP is $124.99.

The OC x2 has a higher clock speed, along with heatpipes, whereas the regular OC does not. It probably won't matter much one way or the other, as the lower cost cards like this don't usually run too hot to begin with.

Are you not buying online, because this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131625&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= is a great deal at the moment "+ 10% off w/ promo code 260XJULYDEALS, ends 7/13
