I am completely new to PCs and I am doing my first build. But I came across a problem when hooking up HDD. Either I am doing this completely wrong or there is something wrong. I hooked up the sata cable to my HDD and then ran the other end to the motherboard and then I tried entering the other cable but it falls out very easily. Is this cable not supposed to even be used? Here are some pictures.
Here is a pic of the sata plugged into the HDD but as you can see the spot to the left of the sata is not filled with anything.
This is a picture of where I plugged the other end of the sata into the motherboard.
Is this supposed to be the second cord I plugin to my hard drive? Because it fits pretty well but falls off pretty easily when I plug it into the HDD.
