Is the hp pavilion 500-223w with default setup good for starter gaming? I want to play stuff like minecraft, battlefield, or cod. And is the 2.6 ghz it has okay?

No unfortunately

By looking at your specs you don't even have a graphics card.
You should be able to play Minesweeper though

But on the serious note you might need to upgrade your graphics card to a GTX 750 ti for a good start.
My old HP used to have a GTX 645 and that played a lot of games but just not the latest. Infact it could only really play small games thats why I have a custom now

The CPU should be ok for Minecraft though

Depends on how much money you have you can upgrade this PC, like Caz suggested maybe a 750TI, i'd say also get a cheap SSD and install OS on it.

Here's a video on YouTube of guy playing Battlefield 4 on 750TI, i just glanced at the video, looks like he gets 30-40 FPS on ultra so you should be good to go all for $200

Am i crazy or that's a pretty good PC, comes with wireless receiver, 8GB 1600 Ram, 1TB-7200 RPM hard drive.

The only low point is a 300W PSU.
