my mobo is msi p23 max ram support is 16G
i have 1x8gb and 1x4gb my bios only sees 8gb and windows can see 12gb but only 8 usable
i have tried reseting the bios by bridging two pins jbat1 but my issue still remains.
im using windows 7 ultimate 64-BIT and my graphics is ati hd 7970 3gb gddr5

turns out my new 8gb stick didnt like my 4gb stick (komputerbay) so i swapped it out for my other integral 4gb stick
