I am mid build on a new desktop and I was attempting to use an Ultra Modular ATX power supply 850w special edition X4. The conflicting part is the 8-pin EATX12V power connector on my motherboard, which is a ASUS Z97-A. The manual on the power supply says to use "the 8-Pin+12Vcable" but I cannot find such a cable in the bundle. The closest thing I can find are two PCIE 6+2-Pin cables which to my understanding would not be compatible, yet appears to be the only cable I have that would fit in the connector. Am I incorrect should go ahead with using this cable or am I missing a cable I should definitely have?

This is your PSU. The connector you want is the P8 MB, which as you say is different to the PCI-E connector (and you shouldn't even be able to plug the PCI-E into the socket on the motherboard).

If you haven't got that P8 MB then yes, you're missing a connector. According to that page you shouldn't have 6+2 PCI-Es either, but instead 8-pin and 6-pin connectors.
