I want to buy my first mechanical gaming keyboard and I can't really decide between the two keyboards in the title. The one from CM is cheaper, I can get it for $90. It also looks like a solid keyboard and the tenkeyless design looks pretty neat too. I can get the other keyboard, the K70, for $154. On this keyboard I like the wrist rest and the metal volume slider. I also like the overall design of the K70 a bit better, probably because of the aluminium. But I'm not sure if the things I just mentioned are worth the $64 extra. Do any of you have one of these keyboards, if so could you share your experience with it. Also which of these do you recommend?

Ok I too have also just switched from membrane to mechanical (Got my K70 on Tuesday)and I chose the K70 Cherry MX red switch. On any keyboard I have always used a wrist rest so for someone like me, I cant really go without one but I feel like it depends on how you type. The LED's on the K70 are illuminating, I only have Red LED's so I don't have a choice like in the RGB version. Numpad is pretty cool, It makes the keyboard look premium on my desk and the media keys (really only the volume sliders) are useful since I don't using my headset would have me guess where my slider is. In the long run, I feel like the extra 60 bucks and the features the K70 offers will be more satisfying. My personal favourite feature that makes this stand out is the passthrough port on the back of the keyboard since it makes switching between peripherals easier since I don't need to go behind my desk and switch my tablet usb to my mouse USB.

The volume slider and design isn't something to take into consideration first. It's what feels nice to your touch, and what feels better to use.

I run a K70 RGB and I love it. I use Brown switches, perfect for typing quick, a long with precision for gaming. I was very hesitant on spending so much money on a keyboard when I needed one, but I'm glad to say I'm happy I did. It feels amazing to the hand and I never get any strain from the wrist rest that comes with it. It's incredibly well made and easy to clean due to the aluminium finish.

I strongly advice you go for the K70 as I think you'd regret it if you didn't. I made that mistake once by going for something which looked amazing but felt terrible to use everyday, sometimes up to 7 hours a day. The K70 offers a great typing and gaming experience as well as the few extras such as media keys, and access to macro's if ever needed whilst gaming.

One bad note is that the normal K70 does have the risk of LED burn where the LED's stop working, Although I believe this way fixed with the RGB K70 which was released sometime ago.

Hope this helps! :D

I own the K95 RGB (A K70 with extra macro keys) and I gotta say like everyone else here, I was hesitant of spending ~£200 on a new keyboard, since I have bought it I cannot image why I was so hesitant about purchasing it. Got for the K70, you will not regret it.
