So for my company I just purchased 3 computers (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA5YV1XU6189)
When I got them they came with a dms59 to DVI connector. Well come to find out our monitors are VGA. So I ordered some DVI to VGA converters (http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-DVI-Cable-Adapter-DVIVGAMF/dp/B000067SOH/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1436903494&sr=8-2&keywords=dvi+to+vga)
Well I plug everything in and I get nothing on my screen! monitor says that no cable is connected... I made sure everything was properly plugged in (Not upside down etc.) and even tried a couple of the cables and computers in different orders and still nothing!? do I need this cable instead? (http://www.amazon.com/HP-Y-Splitter-338285-008-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B0045JSO32/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1436903598&sr=8-1&keywords=dms+59+to+vga)

Please any help would be great!

Thank You!

DVI-I carries the signal for VGA connection.

Now obviously the DMS cable has a different pin-out but it has the pins for the VGA signal since the connection is DVI-I.
When I was searching earlier there was a thread in HP forums that said that tower supported DVI or VGA DMS cables.
The DMS cables always get people.

The VGA adapters wont work on the DVI DMS cable as it lacks the 4 pins that carries the analog signal.

The cable you linked from amazon should work for your needs. HP does state that the computer can output 2 VGA signals or DVI signals

My only concern now that I am looking this over, in the specs for this computer on newegg I read "ATI RADEON HD 3450 with Dual DVI Out PCI Express video card installed - DVI-I Only" Does this mean that a DMS to VGA will not work?

Thank You for your help!
