Can my PC have conflicting GPU drivers, and can that cause games to crash?

I recently had to switch GPUs from a Radeon R9 390 to a GeForce GTX 970 because the drivers kept crashing every time I would boot up the PC. For some reason now some of my games crash within a few minutes of starting game play. Could there be some drivers still installed from the old card and conflicting with my new one? I've went through control panel to uninstall the programs, and everything that I could find from the old software. Any help would be appreciated.

Where did you download it from? I have using this app many times(always downloaded from guru3d) and never had it install anything?

I got it. For some reason the first link I used still put a ton of junk on my PC... I just followed the link you posted too. I just deleted it all and tried a different one and it worked ok. It was still a pain to get the program to work though. It kept not wanting to open. Hopefully the drivers were the problem. Thanks again guys.
