Build:

Case: Corsair 780T
CPU: Intel i5 4690k
GPU: MSI GTX 970
PSU: Corsair RM750
CPU Cooler: Cool Master Hyper 12 evo
Memory: (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-pro-series-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr3-dram-1866mhz-c9-memory-kit-cmy16gx3m2a1866c9) *rather give you every detail*
MOBO: Asus Z97-AR
Storage: WD Black 2TB and a Samsung Evo 120 gb SSD
Connected to an Asus monitor viz HDMI

So basically this is my first PC build. All the parts are brand new. I did make the mistake of putting too much thermal paste (used the whole tube ) but i cleaned that up and figured that wasn't the problem. My problem is the fact that my bios will boot and everything if I only have one of my memory sticks in. It will not, however, boot if I put both of them in.

I have checked every slot by putting the stick in each slot so its not that and I have checked both sticks by putting each (one at a time) in each slot so its not that either. When i put them in at the same time i match the color, and I've tried both pairs of channels. I have also gone into the setting and tried to change the frequency to 1866 mhz and that did nothing. Then I enabled XMP and that did nothing either. Im fairly sure my CPU was put in properly and I'd figure it would not even boot up with one stick if it was damaged in any way. I am also connecting my HDMI to the GPU just in case that matters. I also have both my drives plugged in.

Everything else works even if both sticks are plugged in (fans, led's). But it simply wont give a signal to my monitor. But once I take the second one out it boots up just fine. I wont have any access to an OS until early next month (pre-ordered windows 10).

Please help, I want to be able to go on steam with my kick ass new pc by the time my OS gets here!

Please and Thank you

Guessing you are trying the sticks in slots 1-3 or 2-4 from CPU? Yes/No? Have you tried in 1-2 or 3-4? If they work that way, may well be the cooler (EVO) is too tight in a corner or side, which throws the MC (memory controller) off, try loosening the cooler then snug it down screw tight and try

I have a bad feeling that's what the problem is. I've read quite a few post where they say its the mobo...or the cpu (i really hope i didn't screw up the cpu) but I was hoping to try to exhaust every other resource before resorting to returning the board
