Triple Play non-Comcast cable modem router soutions

I have Xfinity Triple Play and ended up buying the Xfinity Arris integrated modem/router because it was only one with an RJ11 phone jack and I wanted to stop paying Comcast $10/month to "rent" theirs, I wanted to buy Netgear AC1750 but that doesn't have RJ11 jack.I Installed the Arris modem/router but performance is lousy. Is there any way to still get Triple Play (phone/tv/internet) without having to use Xfinity/Arris modem/router, like using the AC1750 with some kind of VOIP modem?

Ok. I did some research (here is one of the sites: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r29484863-CDV-VoiP-adapter)

You have to use a eMTA tye modem to use your Comcast triple play. The phone does not come through a normal VOIP connection, Comcast uses a special protocol that sends merges it onto the coax and DOCSIS protocol.

This modem is the basically same internals of a Zoom 5341J with EMTA support: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00721TUNS/ref=olp_tab_all
I would select the used one from amazon warehouse deals, especially if you have Prime.

You can purchase your own internet modem for the internet portion. I would recommend a Motorolla SB6141 or Zoom 5341J. Both work well on Comcast.

As far as the phone portion. You will have to either pay to rent their phone modem or switch service. There are VOIP services you can buy that you pay for a 2 year commitment upfront but it works out to be < $10 a month.

Thanks, but I already knew this from prior questions. What I want to know is if you can plug a VOIP modem into an integrated cable modem/wireless router (like the NetGear AC1750) and get Triple Play services. Also, Comcast doesn't give much of a price break if you cancel just phone service so I'd prefer to keep Triple Play and figure out how to improve the performance over the Xfinity/Arris modem.
