PSU question if I'm using too much energy

Hi There,

When I originally made my build a couple years ago, I selected a PSU that has 1200W. I did some calculations, and I really should be having an 850W one.

Am I running up a large electricity bill using a 1200W PSU vs the 850W one? Wondering if it's worth or any reason to downgrade.

The power supply will only draw what the system needs. It will be fine as long as it's a good quality PSU.

No, a psu will only use the wattage demanded of it, regardless of it's max capability.

A secondary factor is efficiency. A psu will operate most efficiently in the middle third of its range.

What is your cpu and graphics card/s?

I have 2 Titans, soon to be Titan X's, and an Intel i7 3820-will probably upgrade in 2-3 months. Is there any detriment to me having this caliber of PSU?
