Hello. I have decided that i want to upgrade some things in my computer, but the only parts i really know anything about is the cpu and the graphic card, so i would like to see if anyone in here could help me.

For the cpu i have looked at the i7-4790K and for the graphic card i was thinking of getting the GTX 980 TI. I just don't really know if the rest of my computer would be able to handle them. If you think i should upgrade another part in my pc please say so =)

Cpu: i7 2600k
Motherboard: sabertooth p67
Hard drive: Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-60ZF5A0 ATA Device
Power supply: RX-600AF
Graphics card: Radeon 290k
Ram: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3

Solution
The motherboard is lga1155 which will not hold a i7-4790K.
You can install and run a GTX980ti using your motherboard and psu.

I would wait until August when Skylake is launched before upgrading a motherboard and cpu.

A graphics upgrade would be easily transferrable if you wanted to do that now.

If you have an itch to spend on an upgrade, I suggest a SSD for the "C" drive; you will never go back

I would only recommend Following things to upgrade

# Ram | Double the ram to 16 GB , it will be useful if you use chrome with lots of tabs open and heavily multi task. It also keeps you future ready.

# Boot Drive | Change the HDD to SDD like Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB or 500 GB ( links are below) which will improve your overall system performance, speed up boot times and game loading.

#CPU Cooler | Instead of buying a new processor and new keyboard why not overclock the processor and squeeze out that extra juice out from the CPU. Get Corsair H100i Water cooled if you have money or Noctua NH-U14S if you have the space in the chassis or Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO if you are low on budget.

#GPU Overclocking | Overclocking your GPU will result upto 10-20 % increase performance which in some cases can result from unplayable to smooth gameplay.

# SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB/500GB | $99.99/$179.99

# Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme | $114.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181090

# Noctua NH-U14S | $69.99

# Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | $34.99

Hope this helps.

Its actually quite easy if you can remove the old Cpu cooler . Of course you can search how to install the CPU cooler that you will buy from Youtube.

The water cooling Cpu cooler might be a bit difficult to install but still possible. No need to be tech savy.

Its just a matter of patience.
