Hey all,

So I recently assembled a new gaming tower and am having some issues. Currently, I have installed the disc drive, motherboard, memory, and wireless network adapter. I still haven't installed my graphics card as I want to figure out this internet issue first. Everything has been going smoothly, Im operating windows 7 and have that all set up. However, I'm experiencing some issues with the wireless LAN card.

Here is my issue. I can connect to my network and the "network connection" in the bottom right portion of the screen shows that I am connected to the internet. However, when I attempt to load a webpage the page wont load.

I've researched quite a bit online and haven't found anything that works. I used the CD that came with my motherboard to install the drivers that were provided and also used the CD that came with the network adapter. Still, nothing. I can see that in the Device Manager window it indicates the adapter is "working properly", but I can't figure out much more.

Anyhow, here are some of the hardware/software components I am currently using.

Windows 7 Home Premium
Gigabyte z-97-HD3P motherboard
PCE-N15 PCI-E Wireless adapter

I haven't installed any additional drivers/updates other than what came on the motherboard and wireless adapter CDs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you guys/galls need any additional information just let me know.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Sorry for the extended delay, it was a hectic work week. Anyhow here are some updates on the internet situation.

I turned on my comp today, after letting it sit all week and guess what....the internet works, kinda. It will load webpages and open steam, but it does so VERY slowly. I've noticed that if I disconnect from the network and reconnect, I can get a webpage to load. However, once that webpage has loaded it wont load another.

So the problem now is VERY slow internet, anyone got any ideas on what to do?

Ok, ill download it and give it a shot. It is now giving me the "limited connection" yellow triangle...I just want this comp to work.

Ill let you all know how it goes

Quick Update: the yellow triangle is gone, its back to "connected to internet" but nothing works

Ok, what what I can gather it definitely is not a poor connection due to interference. After downloading and installing inSSIDer on both my laptop (which Im currently on) and my desktop here is what the scores were:

Laptop- Link Score:24 Overlaping: 4 Signal: -76 dBm

Desktop- Link Score: 100 Overlapping: 0 Signal: -60 dBm

From what I can gather on how inSSIDer works, the higher the link score the better the connection right? If this is the case my desktop crushed my laptop so it must be something else...ugh this is getting frustrating

I think I may have found the problem, take a look at this link:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2855718

Here is my question, my security is currently set to security mode "WPA/WPA2-PSK" and encryption algorithm "TKIP/AES"..after viewing the thread above, it appears my wireless adapter does not support AES, but would changing my encryption algorithm to ONLY TKIP have any profound effects on my internet? Just thinking, trying to figure this thing out tonight

So I found a solution and I'll post it here for anyone that is having issues with this F***ING card....

Step 1: Connect to your network, lets call mine "Connection XXX"
Step 2: Once connected, go to your control panel
Step 3: Go to Network & Sharing Center
Step 4: Click on Wireless Network Connection (XXX) View Status
Step 5: Click Wireless Properties
Step 6: Go to the Security Tab
Step 7: Change Encryption Type to from AES to TKIP

This solved my problem, internet is now working like a charm. I guess this wireless adapter doesn't support AES security so changing it to TKIP completely solved my issue. Hope this helps someone in the future!
