So I recently purchased a FX 8350 because I am a YouTuber and a Streamer and I needed a performance upgrade however I owned and used an FX 6300 and I got pretty good performance 40-100 fps on bf4 and at least 30 fps on other games even games like shadow of mordor arkham knight and gta 5. But since u record I needed something that could perform better and I chose the 8350 but now I'm kinda feeling like I made a $160 mistake. Was it worth the upgrade?

Current Rig:
CPU - FX 6300
GPU - R9 280x 3gb vram
MB - 990FXA
RAM - 16gb 1600
PSU - 750w

Other programs I run
After effects, Photoshop, Sony Vegas DxTory, xSplit

Definitely worth the upgrade the 8350 performs alot better than a 6300 especially in cpu boumd games you will get a smoother experience also those extra cores help a lot when running multiple programs so dont doubt yourself you definitely upgraded

The vast majority of games wont fully utilize 6 cores let alone 8. The performance difference between the fx 6300 and 8350 at the same clock speed is almost non existent for games.

Yes I did ita I. Route for delivery and I could always try to sell the 6300 to get some money back.

And the slight boost I'm predicting probably won't be worth the investment. I did seebit being beneficial for when I stream but other than that I don't see it being logical, it was a snap purchase one I didn't think about first and now that I am it seems like a waste I should have at least went 9590 if I wasnt gonna go Intel...
