Cheapest CPU/GPU/Mobo combo for decent gaming?

As the title says, I am wondering what would be the cheapest possible CPU, GPU and motherboard combo in order to be able to play modern games (such as Witcher 3) on fairly high settings with reasonable fps.

I have recently been looking at the AMD A10 7870k APU as that has very good graphics capabilities without the need for a dedicated GPU and would be substantially cheaper than a CPU and dedicated GPU, however, would this be good enough for decent game play at 1080p?

If you are planning to try for 1080P at high settings, APU alone would not be sufficient for decent FPS. It has good integrated graphics. But Witcher3 is a graphic intensive game. It will squeeze out the last ounce of performance from the Integrated GPU in APU and still demand more. Better go for a dedicated Graphic card and a CPU. Or you can also pair the APU with a compatible GPU. But it would be better to use a CPU and a GPU instead.

Try AMD FX6300 + R9 280.

This combo will give you what you need from this rig.

I could have also suggested Core i3. But in the wake of dx12, I would better suggest FX 6300 for its more number of cores.
