Hey everybody Im finally looking into upgrading my hobby of digital art by building my own pc. Im focusing on the art of 3d rendering and printing out on canvas. Right now Im using the free software of Blender, Cycles, Sculptris, and PS. In the future, Id like to try out other software like 3dmax/Maya, Mental Ray to see if I like them. Maybe switch over if I want to. My build is striclty for 3d modeling and rendering, no gaming. Id also like to keep my budget around $1000 (U.S.) So this is what I have so far from research Ive done.

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1231 v3
M.B. AsRock H97 Anniversary
Memory: Im assuming this is good for 3d rendering. 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 not sure about brand
Storage: Not sure about this. SSD - 256 GB
HD - 1TB
Video Card: I think 2 GB is enough not sure about brand etc.
Case: Not sure.
Power Supply: Not sure.
Optical: Not sure.

I think I have everything covered. If I missed anything let me know. Thanks everybody.

Solution
for rendering you want two harddrives and you will render from one to the other this way you are not forcing one drive to read and write at the same time. harddrrives are slow enough doing just 1 thing. LoL
