My Asus P8Z77-V LX is failing (6gig Sata port is dead), can I replace it with an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 with out getting in to trouble with the Win7 OS?

If I cannot change manufacturers, will a refurbished P8Z77-V LX install without the OS requiring me to beg for Microsoft forgiveness?

Thanks for your help

Yes, prob won't even have to reinstall Win7, make good backups of your data, ensure Win7 is up to date, and then hook up the drive and boot. Win 7 will load the default drivers and should boot to Win. Load the latest mobo drivers from the mobo web site, then run a good registry cleaner (Wise has a good free edition) and will then prob have to reactivate Win which is no biggie ;)
