Athlon x4 760k and r9 290 issue

This CPU bottlenecks the hell out of my GPU. I have a discount on newegg for $10 off bringing the new Athlon x4 860k down to $65 (The discount expires July 27). Or wait to get a new motherboard and an i5 or FX 8 core CPU. I wouldn't have cash till mid august. Please respond with opinion, and or temporary fix. Really annoying having a really good GPU and playing GTA V barely reaching 30fps on low settings

Yes, the x4 860k would be an upgrade but not by a lot ( http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-Athlon-X4-860K-vs-AMD-Athlon-X4-760K ) .. definitely not worth $65. 1080p with all settings at the lowest except textures which are at high (dosen't impact FPS at all). Average FPS is 34 with the minimum FPS at 19. AND when I'm driving at a high speed the world won't even load, lol.

Yeah definitely wait a bit to get an i5 or i7 then you'll have a sweet gaming rig. With the x4 860k im pretty sure you would still be bottlenecking.

Have you reptr disable. My i5 4690k with a r9 290x gets terrible performance with the amd reptr program open
