Is there anyway to upgrade my HD Radeon 6670 card/drivers?

I first attempted to let windows search automatically but that failed.
I then went to the AMD website and attempted to download the latest AMD Catalyst driver(15.7)
and that failed.
During the 2nd attempt,I think I received a failed VGA message or something.
My O.S is WIn 7 64 bit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What did it say when it failed? Try this file- http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%207%20-%2064
If that doesnt work? What did the error message say?

Well I did a system restore so now everything is fine in terms of that 'failed VGA" message.
But if I try update with the latest Catylst, it will begin and then midway it will stop,shrink my resolution and then the failed VGA pops up whenever I try to update through device manager etc..

Now after system restore,things are normal so I tried to update the driver software for the AMD Radeon 6670 via device manager etc..
First it will say looking for driver software,then downloading driver software,installing driver software and then BAM
it will download forever and after maybe 3 to 5 min it will say:

"windows encountered a problem installing the driver for your device"
"windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it"
"this operation returned because the timeout period expired"

hmmm. Maybe its an issue with the gou hardware then. Just a question do you already have any drivers installed for th gpu that you are updating or or you installing new drivers?

When I go to control panel and then to device manager
I click display adapters and then the sub name is AMD RADEON 6670.
I right click AMD RADEON 6670,click on update driver software and the problem states :
"windows encountered a problem installing the driver for your device"
"windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it"
"this operation returned because the timeout period expired"

I even tried doing this in safe mode,nothing

OK. What does it call it if you right-click on the desktop and select screen resolution. Then click on advanced settings. It will say its either an AMD 6670 or it will call it a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. What does it say?

IF it calls it an AMD 6670 than it means that the driver has installed in full or in part. Have u tried any games on it? What is the resolution?

It says SAMSUNG(my 50 in plasma) connected via hdmi cable that runs to the GPU

Is that what it says once you have pressed the writing saying "Advanced Settings"?There it wil be in a box saying "Adapter Information"

Yes when I click on Advanced settings/Adaper, it reads AMD HD RADEON 6670

OK, well that seems to suggest the drivers are installed fine. Try running a game and see what happens. If a game runs fine tthen the drivers are installed.

games run fine.
I have no clue besides uninstalling drivers
