Hello,

I'm in need of advice on these 2 motherboards.

I will be having an Intel i7 4790K CPU and a Sapphire Radeon R9 290X Tri-X Vapor-X mounted on it.

Which one should I get?

I know the Maximus board is regarded really well (at least that's what I've heard) as a good motherboard but the G1 Sniper has superior audio system ...

Which one should I be getting and why?
This is a gaming rig by the way.

Oddly, both boards are at the same price where i live, well, almost, the Ranger is 1 Euro more expensive :).

I've seen a lot of people suggesting to get the G1 over the Ranger because of its dedicated quad core processor for the audio side of things (among other benefits related to the audio system) and that the sound system on the Ranger is just a renamed realtek alc1150 ...

As for the rest, I dont see what the Ranger has more than the G1 Sniper in terms of features.

However, I must say im not a fan of the looks of the G1 Sniper (lets be honest, when you compare it to the Ranger, the G1 just sucks).

That being said, I've also been told by some people that Gigabyte has a reputation of having their boards produce more heat than you would expect, is that true?

My guts tell me "go for the Ranger" but by looking at the features both mobos have I must say G1 Sniper might be slightly superior? I dont really know, i might be full of crap since I dont know much about motherboards in general.

EDIT: Also, ive noticed the G1 Sniper has the Killer E2200 ethernet controller. As far as I know thats a good thing ... the Ranger uses an Intel gimmick ...
Thoughts?

Well in the US there is $100 difference http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/compare/asus-motherboard-maximusviiranger%2Cgigabyte-motherboard-gag1sniperz97/
The Killer is not a deal breaker more a gimmick normal Gb lan connector is faster than most peoples internet connections.
The Asus board is upper range OC and tweaking board the G1 mid range.
