Hi all this is my first post on this forum so excuse me if am posting in the wrong section.

I have recently purchased my first custom built PC in which the screen that displays BIOS options and boot menu etc does not fit my full HD Bush TV properly. The display goes past my screen so I think the BIOS resolution is too big for my suppose'd 1080p TV but I am able to get into Windows without any problems. (The GIGABYTE logo does show on screen and I can see some options but text goes off screen beyond my monitor that I cannot see).

This issue is preventing me from accessing the BIOS and any other boot menu options as a black screen occurs with only a cursor on screen (I can move the cursor). I have tested this with Delete and all function keys to no avail on any boot menu option.

I have just purchased and installed an ASUS radeon R7-250 and have edited the display accordingly within Windows in 1080p via using Catalyst Control Centre. I have edited and set the over-scaling option in CCC accordingly, I have updated all drivers to the latest versions (except BIOS as a black screen occurs, thankfully it didn't brick), I have uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers again, this is on a clean install of Windows 8.1 and have removed the CMOS battery for more than 20 seconds (as there is no jumper on the MOBO).

I have even tried using a USB to P/S2 keyboard adapter just to be sure my MOBO accepted the firmware in which it did. .

I am connecting my TV to the HDMI port on my graphics card and also there is no 'UEFI Firmware Settings' within Windows recovery console. I have listed below my hardware:

Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-F2A58M-HD2
TV - Bush LTF22M4 connected via HDMI
Accelerated processing unit - AMD A10 7850k (base speeds for now)
ASUS Radeon R7-250 (1GB GDDR5) hoping to essentially crossfire with APU when possible
8GB DDR3 1333MhZ RAM
1TB HDD
USB Keyboard
USB Mouse
Windows 8.1

its your TV settings that are messing it up. Try and find an 'auto adjust' setting on your TV, this will adjust for the BIOS res. Also go into display mode in TV settings and if you see a setting that says 'point to point' then enable that, will be near the aspect ratio settings.

Bear in mind that once you have fixed this when you boot into windows it will be really small as you have underscaled, so youll need to put it back how it was.

I've changed my aspect ratio to auto which has made a slight difference within windows but still the same issue regarding access to bios.

When I attempt to go into the bios my computer just freezes and I can't move the cursor but when I attempt boot menu it allows me to move the cursor but still produces a black screen.

Thanks for your input!
