Hello Guys.

So I have a Gaming PC / I use for VFX and CGI work too.
Now I want to run Virtual Box on it but the currently CPU that I have is : Intel Core i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz and it doesn't support Intel Virtualization Technology.
So what you guys recommend for me?
I was thinking about the ntel Core i7-4790K Devil’s Canyon Quad-Core 4.0GHz LGA 1150 BX80646I74790K this one :
i7-4790K newegg

My Motherboard is ASUS Z97-DELUXE(NFC & WLC) so as long as it have a LGA 1150 socket i will be fine.
Or if there is a better one / option please post here.
Thank you for all your time.

The K series is missing a few enterprise features, you might be referring to VT-d this adds a little security to running VMs. Basically they don't want you to use it as an overclocked server chip, so they disable that stuff.

Kudos to AMD for giving you everything but sadly they suck on performance due to lack of founds on R&D.

Yeah, that's annoying. :/

Here's to hoping they both get it together and we have some good, healthy competition and innovation again.

Well it say it supports VTx but Virtual Box gives the same error for having it enabled in the BIOS.
and in the Virtual Box Options it just gives a 32 bits OS and not 64 bits.
I'm using Piriform Speccy and in the CPU section it says Virtualization Not supported.
So guys is that upgrade worth it? or there is any other better cpu out there?

Thank you.

I sometimes run virtual servers on my 4770k for testing purposes and have never had a problem with VTx nor 64bit Oses. Your isssues are not due to the CPU but must be something else.

OMG, thank you so much haha you saved me some bucks.
After i disabled the Hyper-V i could create a virtual machine with 64 bits option and without the Vtx error.
I love you <3 ^^
