Okay, I know what you're thinking, this is an extremely irrelevant topic that nobody should care about right now, but I need to know which is better for upgrading. Should I just buy some of the more expensive parts on eBay that are used for half the price or wait for the prices to come down from Holiday sales? Or will PC part prices go up from the massive rush of people buying the parts?

What will prices look like around Christmas time?

Some sort of monetary symbol (depending on where you are in the world), some numerals. Possibly a decimal point.

Seriously, though. No one can expect an accurate prediction of what will happen with prices six months from now. If we say wait until the prices come down and then they don't, you've just wasted six months. If we say buy now and then the prices come down, you'll have buyers remorse for not waiting and getting all new components.

So yeah. Anything we say is about as reliable as the Magic 8 Ball.

Or do prices go down between 1 Nov and Jan 15, due to the massive number of people shopping, and stores wanting to attract eyeballs and clicks....:)

What you are asking is unknowable.
Should you buy used parts, or wait for some nebulous sale (or price increase) at the end of the year.

Apples and oranges.
