Im looking to make a transition into using an intel CPU. I have looked at corresponding motherboards for the 4790k and was wondering why many intel motherboards use lower memory speeds such as 1600 and 1866mhz where most amd boards will use quite a lot more for example im running 2133 in my current ram setup. Intel boards are quite a lot mor expensive than amd stuff in many cases and i was wondering if (on the ram side of things) they had lower performance?

I think you misunderstood the question, i am simply curious as to why a board that only supports 1866 max is more expensive. i already know how to shop for a board that fits my needs. Its an inquiry of why, not about me needing a board. Thanks for the info about this board though.
