Hey guys
i just bought an adapter to use my PS2 controllers on PC
however they dont seem to work
youtube tutorials say that they should just start working after you plug them in and the device driver software has finished installing
however i have had no luck..
please help

Solution
These are Damn nice we have 4 on the HTPC, you can find then for $10-$14, Much cheaper than a PS3 controller or Xbox 360 controller.

For that adapter make sure Device Manager reads it correctly and doesn't just fill in some random driver for it.

then im guessing windows didnt detect em.
either the converter block is damaged or windows refused to install the drivers.
i know from experience that the blocks not well made. so if you can, try using a pin to move the connectors in the female side of the block as they may be splayed and not making proper contact.
just poke a pin in 1 of the the holes.
near the front lip you should be able to feel the connector. work the pin so it slips just above it.
then move the pin in an upward motion like a seesaw action. (dont be to rough) this should force the clip to close up and make a better connection with the ps2 male pin.
(hope that makes sense)

i think i finally got them to work
however theyre only working with one of the 3 games installed on my pc
theyre running with assassins creed black flag
but not with project cars and gta 5
the ones i wanted to use the controller with actually
whats the reason for this?

in that case you may want to use an emulator like xpanner (link below)
aslo make sure the controller shows up in devices and printers. right click on it and set it as the default controller.

just for reference i have the logitech dual action i mentioned earlier. and it had issues with some microsoft games where the forward back stick motion was inverted. it had nothing to do with the driver but the game deliberately set it up this way if it didnt detect an xbox controller.

is what i used to use... this is the last freeware version . if you like it consider upgrading to the payed version
cut and paste the link as the toms breaks the link if i make it clickable.
