Would installing all your media such as pictures movies music... basically everything besides apps, onto your SD card instead of the actual phone storage help retain the speediness it has when you first get the phone?

Now I know it would have to do more with the processor but I was just wondering because I noticed with my older phones, once I installed past X number of applications, my phones would start to lag, stutter, freeze, you get the idea.

Files that sit there and do nothing like your media files do nothing for causing the phone to run slow. The G4 should have enough storage to not need an SD card, but there are advantages to using an SD card. You can easily remove it and copy files to and from it, if the phone crashes you likely won't lose any files from the SD card, if you need to wipe the phone you won't have to worry about losing SD card files. You want to keep backups of the files anyway, the danger or the card or internal storage going bad is there just like with a computer, so you want backups on the computer.
