Hello,

I saw this build online for an auction and wanted to know if its any good since its AMD and im not really good with that im more of intel and Nvidia guy ;) . My main question is can it handle the latest games and would it be any good for the future and is it worth getting for £220 max

Graphics: MSI HD 7950 3GB AMD Graphics Card
RAM: Corsair Vangeance pro series 16gb (8gb x2) 1600mhz
CPU: AMD FX 6300
Case: Vibox Commando Red Midi
Motherboard: Not sure what it is the guy hasnt listed and i asked him but he is not good with finding that out :D :D :D but its one of the newer gigabyte ones by the looks from the photo (its a crap photo)
Cooler: From the photo it looks like the stock one that came with the CPU
PSU: XFX Pro 550w

I wouldn't say 'future proof' (hate that term btw) but it looks like quite a capable 1080p machine, probably high settings.

The FX 6300 is probably comparable to an i3.
The 7950 is a tad slower than a GTX 960

Nothing is future proof :) and that CPU and GPU are getting long in the tooth. You might play new games at decent graphical settings now, but IMO that system will suffer within the next few years

At the offered price, I think it is a good deal. You can upgrade the processor with something in AMD's AM3 family (though the 32nm lithography is pretty well outdated) and a new $200 GPU will serve you well, too.

One downside is that your upgrading options are limited, the Best AMD CPU's are not as good as an Intel i5.

The CPU and GPU alone are worth about £130 used, the RAM is worth at least £65+

The problem for me is that I would build a PC for myself but my budget is quite small around £250 thats why im sticking with looking for a used computer but on auction people over estimate their PC value and put massive prices so this one i found had small price and ending soon so i was wondering if its worth getting or not

It's a lot of hassle, plus you have to give up 10% if selling on eBay, besides you would only be able to buy better with more 2nd hand parts, If that PC was new (equivalent) you'd be looking at £400ish

Hmm thats true. Well i will see how the auction goes tomorrow morning and try getting it for a good price. If it doesnt work out i guess there is always another PC :D . But thanks for the advice :)
