Hi ladies and gents like the title says "what is the best budget Z97 motherboard for OCing?"
I would like to stick in between $100-$160, I want a durable board that will last with an OCd 4790k at 4.7 for a long time and I don't need SLI but it would be a plus if it had it at x16-x16 or x8-x8

thats Linus Tech Tips and he doesn't tell us which out of the 4 is best, I'm kind of hoping someone on here will have some experience or owns a z97 board that they are using to OC with

Updated: I do believe he also says he wont be OCing with those boards so he is not giving us a good review OC wise all he is telling us is there features

Pretty much everything that used to be on the motherboard that would affect overclocking has been moved onto the cpu with these newer processors, with amd the motherboard can matter with overclocking, intel not so much any decent z97 motherboard will overclock quite well its up to your cpu how high. Their is no definitive "best" z97 mobo so if thats what you want i cant help you.

I really like the MSI Gaming 5 or the asus z97a.

I need something that will last you know while its overclocking I need something within that price range that has durable components and I wont have to worry about a mobo failure for at least the next 5 or more years and can handle a OCd cpu for that long also

All of them probably will but I cant predict the future for you, in terms of quality they are all on par and their is no reason to choose one over the other. Like i said i would get the asus z97a or the msi gaming 5.
