So, I've had this laptop for about a year or so now. It's pretty much a piece of junk, but it never really had this problem until the last 3 months or so. I'll constantly get the crash screen with the condescending frowny face. This happens 2 or 3 times a day, sometimes more, and tends to happen more frequently while I'm using something like Facebook or watching a Youtube video (Facebook especially seems to get a lot of them). I've also noticed that occasionally my internet browser will crash or take forever to load a page despite the other PCs in my home running just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I was able to catch it doing this twice last night and once this morning. The error codes I got were KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR and CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED. After the CRITICAL PROCESS_DIED error I had to restart the laptop 3 times before it finally worked as I kept getting the message "Windows did not start up correctly".

generally KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR indicates that a data was needed from storage and the storage returned a error code.

I would make sure the drive connections are well connected, update the laptops sata drivers, and BIOS.
I would run seatools on the storage device. http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/
I would delete the pagefile.sys from my drive and create a new one.
(depends on the type of drive)

you might run crystaldiskinfo.exe to read the error data out of your drive to see if the drive itself is failing.
