Why do my cmos batteries go bad regulary?

I'm some problems with my computer. I have to change my cmos batteries every month and I have to set the date and time at every startup, what could be the reason ? Do I need to update BIOS and if I do how should I do it safely!!

Sounds like a problem with the mobo, could try cleaning the connection point to the battery with rubbing alcohol, but would guess a bad trace between battery and CMOS chip

As already pointed out by 'Tradesman' that it might be a mobo problem ....

But before going to mobo ... go back to your cmos battery ... but from different make/ model(not chinese ... most of them are shitty) if you can get K7S5A ... check it out, then go to mobo TS
