SSD no longer recognized after BSOD

I run two SSDs on Windows 8.1: a Corsair Force GS and a Samsung 840 Pro. Also using an ASRock Z77 Extreme6 board.

Today, after a BSOD due to DPC Watchdog Violation, the Samsung 840 Pro is no longer recognized.

The only fix I've seen pertaining to DPC Watchdog Violations and SSDs are recommedning to update the firmware. Since my machine doesn't recognize that there *is* another SSD, I'm unable to do so. Note: I have had some issues with this SSD in the past not being recognized, but haven't since I swapped out SATA III cable and switched ports.

Is there another fix or way to see if the SSD is online or do y'all think my Samsung 840 Pro has gone the way of the dinosaur? (toast)

Hey there, 7ucky.

Do you need data recovered from the drive? Is there any chance you could try it with a different computer to see if the same thing happens? Or try an SSD diagnostics tool, to see if it's detected by it, to test the drive and see if anything alarming pops-up. Also do you have any minidump files created after that so that you could try and analyze them in order to figure out what's causing the BSOD exactly?

Please let me know how everything goes.
