Well ive only been playing easy to run games like tf2, csgo and dota 2 with a gtx 980 classified and I am getting in 100-250 fps. I haven't played any triple A titles though and I am not expecting for my 980 to hit over 60 fps on those games.

Um...

Why are we talking about Thunderbolt cables?

You said you overclocked to 75Hz so whatever you use already apparently works fine. Plus, the monitor supports only DP at 4K I believe.

I know there's DP compatibility with Thunderbolt cable, but again if you already overclocked the monitor (presumably with a DP cable) why are we discussing Thunderbolt?

Are you going to add an APPLE computer? If so, does it actually support 4K at 75Hz as an output option?

OTHER:
I'm not sure but Thunderbolt v1.2 (both GPU and cable must support) supports DP v1.2. So investigate what is supported by that, though if you have a DP 1.2 cable working (not 1.2a and not 1.3) then I guess it's possible.

I'm not saying it's not Thunderbolt since that supports DP (i.e. a Thunderbolt to DP cable I believe), but what computer are you attaching and what OUTPUTS for video does it support?

Unless you absolutely require Thunderbolt I see no point to it.

yeah it's definitely not a thunderbolt cable considering I don't anything apple and I looked it up online what it was. It a Upstar 3840x2160 monitor connected to a gtx 980 and theirs 2 hdmi slots and a dvi e slot and another slot that I dont know the name off.
