i currently have 16GB of RAM and i have 8GB of RAM from another PC waiting to be installed, now i know that Windows 7 home premium only allows up to 16GB of RAM ... my question is, when windows 10 comes out dose anyone know if windows 10 will allow more then 16GB of RAM? ... may seem like a stupid quest, i just want to make sure :p ... thanks

Sometimes it does matter. Mixing RAM brands is a crapshoot.
Even the same brand and model bought a year apart sometimes does not work.

RAM limits for Windows 10 are:

32-bit: 4GB
64-bit basic: 128GB
64-bit pro/enterprise: 512GB

However, you cannot simply add different RAM to your existing RAM. There's a high chance they will not work together. Only RAM sticks that are sold together (2 or 4 stick packs) are guaranteed to work together.

Different brand ram doesn't matter they'd work together if their speed , timings , voltage & ddr type are the same if the speed isn't the same even then it would work though the higher speed ram would clock it's speed to of the lower speed ram to keep up with it
