Hello,

I recently got a new premade PC with an FX8320 processor. But i think it get's too hot? Max rated temp is 62C.

When its at idle temperature:
Speedfan tells me the CPU = 48C
CPUID says that my Package temp = 35C
Also my CPUTIN temp (in CPUID) is the same as the CPU temp in speedfan
I have a stock cooler btw.

Another thing is when i play GTA5 after 1/2 minutes it starts giving me laggspikes and when i put my graphic's down it still does. Is this becaus the processor starts lagging because it get's too hot?(because graphic card's do start too lagg when they get hot) Or that i have a wrong patch version of GTA5?

P.S. sorry for my bad english.. English is not my main language, but i get the feeling that english forum's are better with problem solving ;)

You are lucky buddy for only getting 62C with Fx8320, you might be in need of better temp monitor and def a cooler look at 212x if it fits in your case

High temps and perf lags may occur due to so many reasons, it would be better if you can give specs of your rig including case and fans you are using !

Use AMD OverDrive to determine the "Thermal Margin" of your FX-8320 --- the 'CPU Status' tab will also allow you to monitor clock/voltage variations.

Your BIOS should have a setting called, 'APM' --- this setting is responsible for core-throttling and should be disabled if you feel 'lagging' is a problem.

Ok, you told us one KEY word here. Premade AMD PC!
You probably got rly bad mobo with that FX 8320 that cant keep up with temps and power and probably some weak old GPU.
Tell us more about your PC.
Use some program to get list of your parts(like AIDA64 Extreme)

Yep your mobo is rly rly bad.
PSU 420W is probably some low quality office PSU, yea ok GTX 750 Ti doesnt use much power but still this PSU can affect system stability.
2x 320 GB HDD omg you in your system old IDE hard drive or 1st gen sata, so this probably can cause random small freezes while the game loads in open world.
How much did you pay for this PC and where, cuz if you did pay a lot they rip off you rly good.

Yowsa :D

Run the 'AMD Stability Test' in AOD (for a 100% CPU load) and keep an eye on the CPU Status. 44C in the 'blue' means you have a thermal margin of 44C (at idle) -- at 100% load, with your 'stock' 95w aluminum cooler, it will likely drop to 20C or so in the 'blue.' That's still good -- especially with the stock aluminum cooler.

What you should see at 100% load is 2-4 cores 'Turbo-ing' to 3.5GHz (those cores will be shown in Red). If you have cores 'throttling' you will see the speeds of some cores likely dropping back to 1400MHz to 2100MHz.

Other stuff: My understanding is that there are some budget AM3+ motherboards that will throttle even with APM disabled. I have a 'budget' Gigabyte GA-LMT 960 AM3+ (Rev6 with an FX-8320E :) ) and it is not an issue for me --- but I'm running a 'stock' AMD 125w copper heat-pipe / solid copper base cooler on mine.

Let us know how the stability test goes .... if you pass with 'flying colors' it may be possible to disable Turbo and run your clock speed up a few notches.

Otherwise, without new CPU cooling (and the AsRock motherboard), it could be a struggle.

This pc wasn't very expesive dont worry

I tried the stability test but after 30 seconds all my temp monitors say that the processor get like 65C so i stopped the test.

I put a voltmeter on my 12V line and at full processor load it goes from 12,1 to 11,7 is this acceptable? it's a 420W atx

Another problem is that many aftermarket cpu cooler's don't fit in my pc case.. so im still trying to find one that fits. (any suggestions? it cant be higher then 13.5 cm)

also some component's on my mother board get really hot, too hot to touch!
