My LAN Speed is >75Mbs on my laptop. But through my Cisco E1000 V2, it seems 'goverend' at less than 20Mbs.

As mentioned above, my LAN Speed is >75Mbs, but I cannot get more than 20Mbs on my wireless Cisco E1000. I am only about 10ft away from the router. Are there adjustments to the router that I can make (I've tired various channels) to improve the wireless speed. Or is my Laptop (Dell Inspiron) wireless hardware limiting my speed. Help !! And thanks !!

OK. Link speed of 54Mbit will give about 20Mbit throughtput. That is acting "normal". Is it the best your router can do? Not according to the specs. You need to verify that it is set for Wireless "N", WPA2 with AES security to get maximum performance. If you don't have WPA2 with AES for security it will limit to 54Mbit.

Hello ! 54Mbs is showing in Wireless Network Connection. I'm getting >75Mbs hardwired to the LAN. Both checked with SpeedTest.

Thank You. I modified the Wireless settings to N and the WPA2-Personal security. Now I am getting ~24Mbs which is twice what I was getting before. I imagine that is the limit of my Wireless Router ?

My Network Link Speed now is 150Mbs. :) I tried a few other Channels (11 and Auto), but they put me back at ~10Mbs. I set my channel back to 9 and I am back to ~24Mbs (if that helps).

First allow me to say Thank You to kanewolf. You have been very very helpful !! As I mentioned, Speedtest-wise, I'm getting a solid 24Mbs. I also connected a remote wireless (Cisco) receiver to see if it improved over my Dell Built in Wireless. It was the same (24Mbs). Any other suggestions or should I assume that I am at the limit of the Wireless Network via the E1000 router? Thank you Again !!
