I want to run a game that needs Direct 3D inside a virtual machine. Here is the system requirements for it:

System Requirements said:
OS
Windows XP/2000 or higher (requires DirectX)
CPU
Pentium 1.5GHz or higher
Main Memory
256MB or more
Graphics
Direct3D-compatible video card faster than VRAM64MB
Sound
Environment that supports Direct Sound
Free space during installation
350MB or more

This is my VM's information. (I use VirtualBox)

This is my host PC's information.

As you can see, I have more than enough power to run this particular game. But the only thing that's preventing it from working on the VM is the Direct 3D. VirtualBox's Direct 3D support is only experimental, so it's pretty bugged and D3D 7 isn't even supported at all. (The game works 100% perfectly at full speed on my host PC, though)

But I need to make it work in a VM because I want to do a few things with it. So I was wondering... is there any Virtual Machine with full Direct 3D support? I've heard about something called "VGA passthrough" or whatever, but I don't even know how it works. I'm also willing to pay for a VM that is able to do what I want if necessary.

So that's it. Can someone help me?

Two questions:

1) Does VMWare have a Dynamic HDD option as well? VirtualBox has this. It's basically an HDD that expands automatically whenever necessary, instead of having a fixed size. This is pretty important for me.

2) Are you ACTUALLY sure that VMWare's Direct 3D support is really reliable? VirtualBox can emulate D3D 9 and D3D 8 (somewhat bugged), but it fails on the D3D 7 test. I just want to make sure VMWare will pass on all Direct 3D tests (D3D 7, D3D 8 and D3D 9).
