Ok so I backed up my laptop to an external drive and wiped the internal hdd. Then I booted from windows 8.1 pro (build 9600) disc and file history started up, tried to scan my drive and reported there was an error and it needed to scan and repair it. Okay, so it did nothing (no progress) and it ended up deleting my backup. It's not in the recycling bin and I have no previously made file history restore point. Am I sol or is there a fix?
