OK I have got windows 8.1 and some old games have vertical borders. I would want to know how to remove them and run games in full screen, when I looked on the internet the only thing I read is that you should use some settings on CCC but I don't have many options on it, I think it is because I'm using a laptop with AMD Radeon 8600/8700M. So is there any other ways? Thanks in advance.

sounds like a resolution issue -- like some of my older games don't support 1920x1080 and I have to run them at something my monitor and game supports like 1024x768 ? and then with my monitor I can adjust from dot to dot -wide - ect...

you may try the overscan settings in ccc ?

Well I already stated that on mine there ain't a lot of settings on CCC, so I was wondering if there were any like third party softwares that can help.

I found a third party patch (that didn't work) for NFS carbon, but there are no patches for popular games like Plants vs zombies. But thanks for the info, I realised that the issue is like with all old 4:3 games

you still should be able to adjust / change that under window display settings or your gpu's control panel I have old games as well and its just a flick of a setting and it all at full screen ??

like fear extraction point don't support wide screen but its no issue ??

be sure to check your monitors supported resolutions and use a matching one in game ? something don't sound right with what you got going

I don't know what exactly you are talking about exactly, but like 3 days ago I did update the drivers from the AMD website if that is what you might be referring to :p

Yea I guess so as well, sence my bro's nvidia had some auto adjust feature that allowed him to play any resolution, and on videos on the internet I see other people got more functions with CCC. Well thanks for all your help, this lil issue won't stop me from revisiting classic games :'D

I was going to link you a older driver that should have the better support but amd driver site is broken or they disabled all the previous drivers so they cant be downloaded anymore ?

amd has really gotten crappie and this card I have from them will be my last cause this is not the first time they just dropped support on things

they act like there going proprietary and if you got anything later then the latest everything they don't support it anymore

I was looking at the 13.12 driver is a good solid one if you can get it for that card of yours ??

When I said that I did update it 3 days ago it was because I installed a HDD software that came on my portable HDD and that did for some reason completely remove my AMD drivers and was not even found in the device manager, so after I installed a bunch of AMD stuff from the website my laptop couldn't start up due to some "page data is less then or equal to" BSOD and that scared me so bad I don't wanna install any more shit from AMD as when ever I updated drivers and CCC it always looks the same, since September 2013 nothing changes pretty much. So I guess I just got to deal with it :p thanks for all the help anyways.
