I have a New Modem, new router, and then this new adapter, the adapter is supposed to work great, I am running windows 8.1 it connects works for a random amount of time then gives me that it cannot access the default gateway in troubleshooting then reconnects, otherwise, it will go to the no-lan icon and I can unplug the adapter and plug it back in and it works then. I'm using the newest version of the software and I've even had the beta running before and I've tried installing previous drivers, nothing works right.
I have even plugged it into a laptop and installed the software on that and it worked perfectly not so much as a single signal drop.

Bump, is anything in my config askew? I am using google as a dns server, I live in South West Ohio near cincinatti. There are so many solutions like the one below but I've gone through them before and it is still not solved.

bumping this to ask for help, this is not yet solved. I have tried entering the ipv4 manually, tried turning off all the minimum power functions and standby functions on the adapter, i have disabled the bluetooth on the adapter, I have run netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log and a bunch of other recommended resets(which btw always give me reset ok but there is a line that says access denied and I am the administrator and only user.) I wish i had intel right now because there are so many people that are getting this fixed wish a simple intel download center fix, but for me I need to do it the old fashioned way. If anyone can help me step by step fix my connection so that whatever is preventing me from being able to stay connected.
