How do i clear my old HDD?

Hello i just received my WD blue 1tb hdd and wanting to replace my old hdd but how do i clear it before i put in my new hdd also i have my windows 7 cd and key with me so i want everything off the old hdd and start fresh. Also using my same mobo asus m5a97 r2.0

Clear your old HDD? I use Dban http://www.dban.org/
If you mean your new HDD, you don't have to do a thing. It is pre-formatted and ready to use.
