Hi all, I can't decide on a new mobo.

My current specs :
- Intel core i5-3550 (looking to upgrade)
- Asus P8 Z-77 M-pro mobo
- Corsair Vengeance 8 GB DDR3 ram
- Asus R9 280X
- NZXT H440
- Sandisk Ultra 256GB SSD
- 2x1TB WD HDD
- Corsair CS650M PSU

I am planning to get an i5-4590 or something along that price point for my next build. Also, please see the below info while suggesting...

- I don't overclock
- Color scheme is more important that anything. I need a red/black theme.
- Possibly with red LEDs (MSI or Asus Maximus perhaps?)
- need ATX form factor
- Budget not more than 200 USD, lower the better
- I don't care about features like overclocking, fan control and whatnot
- Prefer to buy from Amazon (they ship to India without problems, less customs for some reason)
- PC usage is for gaming, music, everyday use and photoshop/illustrator

Yes. You can use any LGA 1150 CPU with that motherboard. X99 platform hardware is VERY expensive and doesn't give you much in return unless you're running high end dual cards.

For a good X99 build you're talking close to 2000 dollars for everything.

No, I'll never run SLi/CF for certain. Also, that one does not ship to India.

Then if you are India, I'd go with this. It is somewhat expensive, but you know as well as I do that availability and prices in your country sucks so considering your color choice and the fact that any other model that has to be shipped from someplace else will likely be just as expensive once the import taxes and shipping are added to it. At least this is somewhat local.

Can I use an unlocked processor with this mobo, even if I don't overclock?

Also, this mobo color scheme is what I was looking for. I will find out more local retails for some deals.

edit : How future proof is this? With the x99 series out now, should I wait and buy those?
