I was getting constant display driver crashes on my EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 so I RMA'ed it. I just got a new one back and am still getting the crashes. I have tried an 100% fresh install of windows, clean installed the drivers, did a TdrDelay thing in H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Graphics Drivers. The card is not overheating.

These are the error messages I get in event viewer

Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

The card is factory overclocked, and on my previous card(I have done far less testing on my new one) I underclocked it by 500mhz and it still crashed and ran like crap.

System Spec
CPU i5 4670k@4.4ghz
GPU EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0
MOBO ASUS MAXIMUS HERO VI
PSU Corsair GS800
RAM Corsair Vengence 16Gb DDR3 1866
OS Win 7 64bit

I am running heaven and valley benchmarks for a long while and the crashes happen semi often.
The crashes happen in all the games I am currently playing.
GTA V
The Whitcher 3
TF2
CSGO
And a couple more I can't remember.

I suspect it is the PSU, the 12v rail usually at 11.904v under load, 12v not and sometimes 12.096v. I use to have a gigabyte r9 280x and got 6 replacements, the last one had the same issue as the rest but it worked 100% fine when I gave it to my brother and put it in hes pc.

I am not sure if this is all the info you nned but its what I could think of.

I am going to be running valley allot but it has crashed 3-4 times since I got it on 7/17 at around noon, not constant gaiming, as of this post its 1:30 am 7/18.

It's from Nivida own website.
If you don't believe me, go directly to Nvidia homepage, click on Support, then "FAQs and Knowledgebase" and then search 353.49 and you will get to the same link as posted.
There is a newer one 353.49 as well:

They stated that it was a replacement. And I have no other psu, if I go a day or two without a crash after the driver hotfix I will say it worked.

At this point it seems to be fine, rand heaven for like 6 hours, but it is still crashing in source games. i use to only do that when I OC'ed but now its doing it relitively often, but unlike other games the game does not crash when the driver does. I am positive that is a separate problem and the card is fine.

your problem is not the PSU, many 980 owners including myself(EVGA GTX 980 classified)
are still having these issues!
I regret even buying a 900 series now, my 780ti never had one single crash issue because of drivers.

I upgraded to windows 10 and it seems to have help the issue, I have had only 1 crash that seemed unrelated, there are other issues with windows 10 as some hardware like my monitor's speakers cause blue screens lol but other than that my games have had higher fps slightly and have not been crashing, even was able to OC the card a bit.

I am still using WIN 7 and hope to resolve the issue because i had not planned on switching to WIN 10
for a while if at all.
My 780ti works fine on 7 so i really think it is a driver related issue and the techs at EVGA agree
IF our cards were at fault it would have a problem on every game.
Please keep this updated if you continue to not have any GPU issues on WIN 10

Are you still not having a issue or did WIN 10m resolve the problem?
