Not sure what my issue is, but my i5 3570k W7 x64 desktop randomly restarts, perhaps every 30-40 mins or so.

What's odd is that when it boots back into Windows, I don't get any kind of error message that Windows was not shut down properly (as would be typical with a normal hard reset). It just loads right back into Windows normally, as if I had CLICKED restart intentionally.

Does this symptom indicate anything to anyone? Does that mean that my ______ is going bad?

If it's of any help, I have recently upgraded a couple things (cloned to a new primary SSD, new USB audio interface, GTX 750 graphics card, and a new wifi USB adapter). My CPU is overclocked to 4.0ghz, but my temps stay around 39C.

THANKS!

Hi, I can recommend two things.

1) Do a scandisk on your computer with scan and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

2) Try an older version of the NVidia drivers, I have seen similar issues with the new version of Nvidia driver whereby the older ones didnt create the reboot without an error issue. Does not occur on all graphics cards tho.

Also under Event viewer - Windows logs - system you can see the errors and what caused it. This sometimes helps to figure out what went wrong.

Hope this helps,
Gabor

I have the same problem, started after i updated drivers for gtx 970.
suspicious activity: The AODDriver4.3 service failed to start due to the following error:
Cannot create a file when that file already exists.
The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device SWD\WPDBUSENUM\{e28e785c-4dba-11e4-829f-806e6f6e6963}#0000000000100000.
Custom dynamic link libraries are being loaded for every application. The system administrator should review the list of libraries to ensure they are related to trusted applications. Please visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/197571 for more information.

Thanks!

This guy seems to have had the same problem, and indicated it was the PSU:

Is there a way to test my PSU, and check that everything is getting stable voltages, etc? Can I see how much power my system is trying to draw from the PSU? Maybe adding the GTX 750 was just a little too much (even though its low-power). Or maybe the PSU is just getting a tad old.

Also, why would a failing/weak PSU NOT trigger the "windows was not shutdown properly" message?

Thanks Gabor..

My event viewer doesn't look good, but I'm not an expert in that department. My PC shut down twice in the last hour while working in some audio engineering software.

12 errors and 4 warnings in the last hour?

Also, my Nvidia driver is 347.88 from 3/15. I see that there's newer and older ones available. Wonder how far back I should go....

Any help? Thanks!!
