I currently have the Crucial Ballistix Sport DIMM Kit 8GB, DDR3-1600, CL9-9-9-24 and with ArmA 3, ArmA 3 Dedicated Server, Chrome tabs and the Loadout Editor for ArmA 3 (Java application) I'm constantly running out of RAM which forces Windows Aero to disable.
Now I'd like to go from 8GB to 16GB, but I'm not quite sure whether to buy 2 more 4 GB Crucial RAM sticks or go with the Kingston HyperX Savage DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR3-1600, CL9-9-9.
Moreover, is it true that the H97 motherboards (I own an ASUS H97 Pro) don't support higher speeds than 1600 MHz? If I'd buy a e.g. 2400 MHz RAM stick "for the future" and it runs at 1600 MHz, would the timings still be worse than with stock 1600 MHz RAM?
Would CL11, CL10, CL9 or even CL7 really make that much of a difference? I don't feel like the price justifies anything lower than CL9.
