Hello,
I have Celeron 560 2.13 Ghz Processor in Laptop with 533 Mhz FSB.
Now I am confused with which Freq. ram I should Install on this 675,800Mhz??
did some googling but It made me confuse more and more with lot of difficult calculations.

Solution
If the motherboard can handle 800 Mhz RAM, then the memory controller would still need to bring that speed down to 667 Mhz to be able to talk to both sticks at the same settings, which is how those controllers work. I think there would be less potential problems if you bought 667 Mhz RAM.

Even 4GB kits from different companies on Amazon are all showing:

4GB KIT (2 x 2GB) SO-DIMM DDR2 NON-ECC PC2-5300 667MHz RAM Memory

So I have to believe that there is that limit for your system. Otherwise, someone would be selling 800 Mhz memory for it, and I do not see anyone doing that.

One last point. The speed difference in your system between 667 MHz and 800 Mhz would be very minimal. Not even enough for you to notice without a...

model number for my compaq C700 is HSTNN-C17C

HP was no help at all on this. Despite having a 791TU page, there was absolutely no memory information on that page at all.

So when you need info, ask Google, right? I did... And Amazon.com popped up with this:
http://www.amazon.com/Memory-Compaq-Presario-C791TU-Upgrade/dp/B00NYJZYEG

So someone there is selling memory specifically for that model of laptop. In looking at the picture they had posted, you can see the memory type and speeds.

It is DDR2, 2GB per stick, 667Mhz SoDIMM memory made by Hynix.

Here is another link to a page on Amazon where a bunch of different memory and memory kits are available for your laptop.... I see a couple that are 4GB kits.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=C791TU+memory&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3AC791TU+memory

I never was able to find out how many memory slots there are, nor what the memory limit is. I have to assume it is 2 memory slots, and 4GB is probably the limit, which probably means the laptops came with 32 bit Windows, and thus the 4GB limitation.

Yes its clearly says 667 Mhz ram, i have one already installed 667 mhz and thought to upgrade but i guess its capacity is this 667mhz. now my question is if i bought 800 mhz ram and use it with this 667 obviously this will run on 667mhz as well, but i am thinking to buy 800mhz for future purchase. in that time will use in this same laptop. So does it Harm it?
using in c700 with 667mhz ram with 800 mhz ram is it harmfull? or alone 800 mhz ram?
