hi guys.
so I built a new pc recently and it was running just fine until around a week ago. whenever i open any game everything just freezes, my keyboard, my mouse, the screen and the the sound. the thing is when im just watching movies/videos or just browsing the net, everything works like a charm.

i have updated all drivers, formatted and reinstalled windows, took my pc apart and put it back together, ran software such as furmark for cpu and gpu and everything is running perfectly.

gpu never exceeds over 55 degrees and cpu never over 70 so overheating is out of the way.

all my hardware is running perfectly so i assume its something to do with software issues but i just can't figure out what it is. i would really appreciate any help, thanks guys.

So you re installed the graphics drivers, then re installed windows. I think you have pretty much ruled out software being the issue. I would do what the guy above said try to launch the game with integrated graphics if you have them, if it works something is wrong with your gpu.

not sure about the motherboard
nothing im running is overclocked
and im not too sure if it has integrated graphics, not too sure how to find out and i have no idea where to find older gpu drivers

It does, take out the gpu and plug whatever cable you use for display into the back i/o panel of the motherboard.

so i tried the integrated gpu on mario and counterstrike but instead of everything freezing it just crashes for a few seconds and doesn't open at all,

im pretty sure my gpu isnt faulty because i could open crysis 2 and play it on max without an issue
